[ Astarion can relate to the footman, in a way. When you're low on the totem pole, you take any opportunity to step on those lower than you. He tortured his siblings--literally and figuratively--and tormented the staff, although he still thinks the ones who weren't enthralled deserved every awful thing he did to them.
